Davina here with Penguin Palace Stamps, and I’m sharing a card using the brand new 2019 fall/winter release stamps and dies. This punny set is called Happy Track and Field (chapter 2) and is part of a fun, two stamp set pair, full of sporty animals and cheering characters.
I didn’t have to work too hard, or do anything elaborate to show off these adorable critters. I’ve created a simple layered scene using textured cardstock, patterned paper and a little bling.
I started by layering a piece of colorful striped paper over a piece of bright white textured cardstock. Then I gently inked the edges of aqua textured cardstock and two grassy layers before attaching the shorter grass piece with foam tape. Before I adhered my aqua panel to the striped paper, I splattered it with white and metallic gold ink. I’m often asked what I use for my splatters, and honestly I have several different inks. But today I used Liquitex Acrylic Ink and I’ve included them in the photos for a visual reference, and it’s easy to see how luxurious and glittery the gold is.
I stamped my images using my stamp platform, and colored them with Copic markers. After die cutting with the coordinating Penguin Cuts , I used a white gel pen to add highlights, and Wink of Stella to the PomPoms and trophy sparkle. I glued down my images using a variety of glues and mounted my upper images onto white fun foam for extra dimension.
I finished it off with a sprinkling of sequins and jewels for extra sparkle. I really love how I used the colors from my patterned paper for the images, and all the texture that the cardstock provided. Thank you so much for stopping by,
Davina
