Pretty Pink Posh Spring Theme Week

Hello crafty friends! Davina here, buzzing by with a Spring themed mini slimline card. I used several cute Pretty Pink Posh products, new and older, to make this sweet little scene.

I started by selectively cutting the largest  Slimline Scallop Frames Die to get the proportions I wanted. I like to make my mini slimline cards 6.5 x 3.5 in dimension. Which is only 2 inches shorter than a standard slimline card. This frame die is only 8 x 3, so I will trim it to 6 x 3, then add a background layer. I accomplished this by placing the top cutting mat an inch short of the edge of the die. Then I measured and marked where 6 would be, and very carefully placed the edge of the die at the marked point, while making sure the scallops fit back into the frame. I taped it in place with washi tape to avoid any slippage, and cut only that last inch.

I watercolored a panel for the background using multiple shades of yellows and allowed that to dry before trimming it to fir the back of my frame and cutting some cute stitched hexagons using a die from the new Spring Mug Additions Die Set

I stamped several adorable bumblebees from the Bee Friends stamp set and heat embossed the sentiment in the upper area of my watercolored panel. I also stamped and colored the large jar from the Spring Jar set and the little decorative bow. I used the Spring Mug Additions Dies to cut some small flowers, leaves, and the honey dipper before coloring each item with a combination of ink blending and COPIC coloring.

I used foam tape strips to adhere the scalloped frame to the watercolored background, the centered the whole thing onto a patterned panel that is 6.5 x 3.5. I adhered my hexagons, honey jar, bees and flowers using foam tape hot glue. Then I finished it off by adding some sparkly Wink of Stella to the bees wings.

The Greeting Farm April Blog Hop

The April 2024 New Release is now available for purchase in The Greeting Farm Store. This month we introduced 3 new stamp sets. Our first set called MERMAID ANYA 2 takes us under the sea with a gorgeous Anya and her fish and sea horse friends. Next, our furry friends went on a road trip in a caravan in a set called ADVENTURE PALS. Our final set called MISS ANYA STYLE has a beautiful Anya with 4 stunning dresses.

I’m sharing a shaker card I made using the beautiful Mermaid Anya 2 stamp set. I just adore how her hair flows across her face and large coral and starfish fascinator. I combined a few images from an older set called Happy to Sea You. I adhered everything on top of a scallop scale shaker that I’ve had in my stash for years and years and I like how the beachy patterned paper peeks through from behind.

To celebrate this release we are having a short BLOG HOP! One lucky fan will take home the entire release!! You have until April 18th, 12pm CST/1pm EST to leave your comments on each Designer's Blog. Then head back to The Greeting Farm Blog to let us know you completed the hop.

Mama Elephant Designer Series Capybara Party

Hello crafty friends! Davina here, with some slimline shaker card goodness. I loved the fun celebration theme of this latest release from Mama Elephant, and all of the balloons and cute critters. I wanted to make a shaker card using one of the new standalone die sets called Round Balloon Shaker CC , and I thought it would be nice to line up a few smaller ones on a slimline card base, and combine the Capybara Party stamps with it.

I cut my slimline base using the Slim Card Basics CC dies, and carefully marked where i wanted to place my balloons. I cut the balloon shape out 3 times and reserved the decorative pierced portion. I cut a second slimline base and lined it with pretty mint colored paper. Next, I created a frame with foam tape around the patterned paper portion, including two supports between the balloons. I filled the frame with lots of sequins, iridescent stars and pastel clay confetti.

I gave the reserved die cut balloons pieces a quick coloring using a light minty COPIC marker, then glued them back into place on top of acetate, creating the windows. Then I carefully applied the top portion directly over the sequin filled frame. I was fortunate that it went on perfectly because I have had some mishaps in the past. Next, I mounted my shaker frame onto a scalloped layer (also from the Slim Card Basic CC die set) that I cut from a darker shade of minty cardstock.

I stamped my images onto Bight White Neenah Solar Crest cardstock and gave them a very light pastel coloring that matched the confetti sequins. I added a few white highlights and my signature dots to the images before adhering them onto my scene. I felt as though it needed a little something extra to fill the negative space, so I created a small layered banner using the backside of the patterned paper, some stripes, and a glittery star.

I really love how simple and pretty this turned out  and nothing beats a shaker card for excitement. I especially like how the teeny iridescent stars stay clinging to the acetate in the windows, so even if the other bits are at the bottom of the balloons, the little stars are still distributed all over.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope this project brings a smile to your day,

Davina

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: It’s Poppin

Hello crafty friends! Today Mama Elephant is featuring the stamp set called It’s Poppin on Day 2 of the Stamp Highlight week. This 4x6 set has 3 tall images with a cuter cat and a great big round balloon. I love the additional images provided, of confetti, to fill the balloons.

I made a full sized slimline card using the Slim Card Basics CC dies, and arranged some gently inkblended balloons in the upper half, using the Balloon Bunch CC die set. I cut each balloon individually and inked the edges using a small amount of distress oxide ink in pink, yellow, and aqua. I adhered the individual balloons onto the base and arranged over the stitched die cut strings on my sky panel. I added two layers of puffy clouds before adding two of the chunky kitties onto the scene.

I filled each of the balloons with some sparkly golden stars and added a few to the background. I finished this card off with a colorful stamped sentiment from the Way to Go stamp set and a bold striped background.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: Capybara Party

Hello Crafty friends! Today starts the week of Stamp Highlights for the March Release, and today we are featuring Capybara Party. This set is full of cute little round capybaras and goes perfectly with the previously released Capybara Christmas and Little Capybara Agenda stamp sets.

I love all of the birthday accessories like the cute cake and birthday gifts that are included in this set. I wanted to use as many as possible in my card so I decided to make a segmented card using the Comic Cover Basic cover plate die. I put a small strip of inky grass on the bottom portion of each little window, then backed the entire piece with a subtle cloudy paper.

I stamped and colored the images from the Capybara Party set, and also stamped two banners from the Sentiments from a Yeti stamp set. I added my images to the little widows and stamped a sentiment for the center using the Wishes Enclosed sentiment set. I finished this off with a rainbow striped pattern paper and some teeny bows from Little Agenda Frames, that I added to the banners.

I hope you like this little scene and head over to the Mama Elephant blog to see inspiration from the entire DT. Thank you for stopping by,

Davina

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop!

Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store!

www.mamaelephant.com

Hello crafty friends! I’m so happy to be participating in the March Mama Elephant Blog Hop. This rerelease is simply adorable with so many different styles of stamp sets but all from a “celebration” theme. The project I’m sharing is using the new Little Agenda Ice Cream stamp and CC set. The LItlle Agenda series is my favorite series of all time. I love putting tons of images onto little mini scenes and these are perfect for creating my favorite types of projects. I also love that they all play together perfectly because they are all illustrated in the same style.

I made a Slimline sized card using the Slim Card Basics CC die set, and all of the images from the Little Agenda Ice Cream stamp set. I cut 3 grassy layers from colored cardstock, and gently inked the grass tops in a darker Mowed Lawn green. I also tucked an inked wavy brown layer in between for my ice cream truck to park on. I colored all of my images in colors found ion the plaid patterned background paper, and die cut with the coordinating Creative Cuts.

I added a sun and cloud into the sky from the Beary Good Day stamp set and the cutest popsicle hamster ever from an exclusive collaboration with Ellen Hutson. That set is no longer available, but that is why it is so important to always grab those limited edition sets, because over a year later, TaDaaaaaa! Essential images hahaha. I finished this card off with a great little sentiment from the new Way To Go sentiment set. These sentiment sets are also my favorites with their fun font and great size.

I really love this littler masterpiece and I hope you do too. Now go hop along for your chance to win and see all the amazing inspiration from the Design Team, Davina.

Pretty Pink Posh Spring Release Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends! Davina here to share Spring Joy with the new Pretty Pink Posh release Blog Hop. This beautiful release is full of Easter and Spring products sure to make you fall in love. As always there is a diverse amount of products from stencils and stamps to many new die sets and so many gorgeous butterflies! There are also add ons to our favorite lines, like the super cute themed cupcakes and playful train sets. Make sure to “Hop Along” and leave a comment at each stop for your chance to win one of 3 $30 gifts.

I made a Spring shaker card using a combination of several new items. I started by cutting a background using the Butterfly Cover Plate from heavy cardstock. I made it a shaker by mounting it with foam tape over a pretty pastel plaid backgroundand and filling it with the new assortment of shaker beads called Pastel Party. I’ve been adding an extra 1/4 inch to my cards recently, so that my pattered papers can extend beyond the A2 cover plates. So I’ve been cutting larger card bases from my extensive stash of 12x12 cardstock.

I stamped and colored two of the spring themed cupcakes from Easter Cupcake Set, and die cut using the now de-tabbed coordinating dies! They are incredible. I also die cut several butterflies from the new Stitched Butterflies Dies that are so perfect and detailed for year around projects. I arranged my images onto my card and topped the cupcakes with a glittery “Spring” that I cut from the new Spring Script Die.

I finished off this card with an embossed sentiment from Ester Sentiments Strips Stamps Set on a layered Sentiment Strips Banner, and a few sparkling sequins. I hope you love this new release as much as I do and take a few minutes to participate in the blog hop. Make sure you leave a comment at each blog for your chance to win one of 3 $30 prizes.

“Be Amazing” Mama Elephant Designer Series

Hello crafty friends, Davina here, with a mini gallery of unicorns to cheer you up. There are so many incredible new stamps sets from this latest release that it was difficult to choose a theme for my Designer Series post. But the little paint buckets and brushes stole my heart. I loved the little unicorn from the Deliver Spring Happiness stamp set, and how it was peeking up from the buckets of paint. I decided I wanted to combine that image with the art supplies from the Painting Piggies stamp set.

For my background I wanted to create a gallery type wall so I pulled out my older Little Agenda Frames stamp and die set, and also the cutie Little Unicorn Agenda stamp set. I heat embossed some gold frames onto thick watercolor cardstock, then used a gold watercolor to fill them in. I love that the die set optionally removes the center, so I could achieve the layered look that I love so much when adding the pictures. Next, I die cut just the outer frame portion and stamped a unicorn image in the center to frame after coloring. I assembled my little portraits and put them aside.

I stamped and colored the images from the new sets, and gave them a simple color using pink, purple, and orange to match the plaid patterned paper I planned on using. Once I cut out the images using the coordinating dies, I arranged my “gallery” onto a soft inked background with gold and white splatters, which was layered over some glittery gold cardstock, and then on top of my soft patterned paper.  I arranged the remaining images onto the bottom of the scene making sure everything felt balanced.

I finished off my card with a white and purple die cut banner using the Banner Greetings CC dies. They are the perfect way to add a fun sentiment to your projects when you’re a little tight on space, or just in general. I hope you enjoy this little scene and thank you for stopping by,

Davina

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: Painting Piggies

Hello crafty friends! Today Mama Elephant is kicking off the stamp Highlights for February and we are featuring the adorable and artsy Painting Piggies . This set is so great because it has so many wonderful art supplies and accessories. I especially love the paintbrushes and cans of dripping paint. The coordinating dies have a perfect little seam in them at the top of those paint cans to allow you to tuck a brush or something into the paint cans.

I created a little scene that I built up on an inblended background that I made using the Combo Rectangle Creative Cuts. I adore the scalloped background it makes, and how easy it is to achieve that two tone look by simply cutting two layered from colored cardstock, and inkblending your desired darker tone onto one of the layers. This way everything matches beautifully, but has just enough contrast to be noticeable.

I combined the images from the Painting Piggies set with two smaller piglets from the new Little Pig Agenda stamp and CC sets. I love that those small piggies fit into the canvas & frame stamp images. I surrounded a stamped in die cut sentiment from the new Lucky Friend stamp set, with some art supplies and added some tangerine colored sequins onto the scene.

This new release is so fun to create with and I hope you take the time to check out all of the inspiration from the entire Design Team. Thank you for stopping by,

Davina

Happy Birthday with The Greeting Farm

Hello crafty friends! Today is release day over at The Greeting Farm and there’s a little something for everyone. Over the past 3 days I’ve shared a card using each of the new sets, and I’ve really loved creating with every stamp set. For today’s card, I’m circling back to the cutie Birthday Bears stamp set.

I love the playful way this set was drawn and the whole group of bears in one big image. I wanted a different look than the last card I made, so instead of different shades of brown, I decided on a group of creamy white polar bears.

I used a cool tone color pallette of aqua, blue, lime green, and purple, to give an icy arctic feel. I stenciled a balloon filled background using a Pretty Pink Posh layered stencil, then layered it with purple carstock and a colorful plaid paper.

After stamping my image and letting the ink dry well, I gently shaded the bears in shades of warm gray then added some little dots for texture. I colored the accessories with the same cool colors and added some white highlights. I used my scan n cut to cut the image out and mounted it with foam tape. I added a layered die cut Happy Birthday and surrounded it with some die cut candles and a party hat.

I love the way you can use this set is grand enough to use on its own, yet not loose its impact when surrounded by lots of color and die cut pieces. Make sure to head over to The Greeting Farm to shop the new release and see all of the beautiful inspiration from the entire Design Team.

Designer Series: “Herd” It’s Your Birthday

Hello crafty friends! Davina here, to share my Mama Elephant Designer Series project. I am calling this slimline shaker card ‘Herd’ It’s Your Birthday, and I love the hot pink farm theme. The January Mama Elephant release is so adorable, with all of the farm themed products, and I combined quite a few on this landscape card.

I used the Slim Card Basics CC die set to cut the card base from hot pink cardstock, the pink gingham top layer with windows, and the white scalloped frame. I’ve been on a mission to put a dent into the sequin collection I have amassed, so don’t be shocked when I make a million shakers. I inked a bright blue sky onto a back panel the same size as the gingham layer, and framed it in with foam tape after placing a little red farm house in the top left corner. I filled it in with lots of bright clay confetti and added a grassy strip over the acetate, but under the gingham.

I stamped the farm house, flowers, and hay bales from the Little Agenda House stamp set. I know the hay images were intended to be bushes, but they worked perfectly for my farm scene hay piles. Then, I added a white picket fence that I cut using the Farm House CC die set. I cut two and covered the seam up with a little cow image. Next, I stamped a bunch of adorable teeny cows from the Little Cow Agenda stamps, and colored each differently. I arranged them across the bottom of my scene and got to work on my sentiment. I made a custom punny banner using the smaller Little Signage Agenda stamp set. The letter size was perfect. Once adhered, I glued some tiny iridescent stars all around the top.

Mixing and combining stamp sets is my favorite technique for making unique cards and scenes. I hope that you enjoy this scene, and thank you for stopping by,

Davina

It’s Your Lucky Day with Pretty Pink Posh

Hello crafty friends! Davina here to share a bit of Luck with you. I just can’t get over how cute the newest Pretty Pink Posh release is. All the beautiful Valentines Day and St.Patricks Day products make me smile. One of the first projects I made was this St. Patricks Day Cupcake themed card.

I used the fantastic new Big Valentines Day Cupcake Dies and the Lucky Stamp set and dies combined with the older Leprechaun image from the Best of Luck stamp set. After stamping, coloring, and ink blending my images, I assembled them over a clover filled back ground that I made using the Layered Shamrocks Stencil. I gently splattered some metallic gold ink and matted with yellow and green layers.

I embossed my sentiment onto a black banner cut from the Sentiment Strip Die Set, and added a bakers twine bow to the top corner. I finished this off with the addition of some clay embellishments from the new St. Patricks Day Clay Confetti Mix

Thanks you for stopping by and I hope that you check out all of the fabulous inspiration from the incredible Design Team,

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: Surprise Boxes

Hello crafty friends! Today is the final day of the Mama Elephant Stamp Highlights, and we are going out with a bang. The card I made today features the Surprise Boxes stamps and Creative Cuts combined with the new Square Grid Cover Creative Cuts

This 9 grid cover plate makes it so easy and fun to make unique shaker cards. I added a cloudy border to the front of the grid, and made my sequin filled shaker atop an inkblended aqua panel. After stamping these adorable images and coloring with copic markers, I cut them out using the coordinating die cuts. I love the cute gift wrapping accessories and layered them across the bottom. I cut two speech bubbles from black card stock using the Simple Friends Bubbles CC, then heat embossed sentiments from Surprise Boxes stamp set.

I mounted this shaker grid onto a fuchsia 4.5 X 4.5 card base, and finished it off with a few of the assorted sequins. Make sure to head over to the Mama Elephant blog to see the entire release and more inspiration from the Design Team. Thank you for stopping by,

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlights: Simple Friends Bubbles

Hello crafty friends! Today Mama Elephant is featuring the Simple Friends Bubbles stamp set and Creative Cuts. This is such a great little combo for adding colorful sentiments to your projects. The coordinating dies make it a snap to cut out all of the bubbles in one pass of the machine. Each sentiment is a friendship themed sentiment but even better are the outline stamps that make it possible to create your own bubbles using sentiment stamps.

My project today uses the Simple Friends Bubbles set paired with the new Surprise Boxes stamps. I stamped the sentiment bubbles with different pastel shades of Distress Oxide Inks, to match the copic colors I used on the critters from the Surprise Boxes set. I created a square shaped scene for the upper half of my card, to make a Polaroid type scene. I put the word bubbles into the cloudy upper area and layered my images onto the grassy inkblended background.

I used the Lucky Alpha Creative Cuts to create a layered sentiment across the bottom. And shaded it to match my lavender sky. I finished of these letters with a glittery finish from my Wink of Stella brush, and a sprinkling of teeny iridescent stars across the sky.

Make sure you head over to the Mama Elephant blog to see more of the release and lost of inspiration from the Design Team. Thank you for stopping by,
