October Mood Board with BRI

Hello my Ink loving friends. Today I’m talking about the October Moodboard offered by Butterfly Reflections Ink and sharing a card I made using a couple of stamps set from Trinity Stamps that I illustrated. I am also going to challenge you to make a card, craft, or scrapbook layout using the October color board and link it up here, on this post, for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Butterfly Reflections Ink online store.
I really love BRI, the variety of supplies and brands is incredible and I love supporting small businesses, supporting and empowering women, and genuinely nice people. The color/mood boards that they release each month are such a fun way to spark your imagination and creativity, especially when they are colors and combinations that you wouldn’t normally use. You may find some new favorites and broaden your comfort zone.

This month the colors are Pearl Pink, Squash, Antique Moss, and Forest Green. Some of these colors out of my normal range, only because I struggle with royal deep colors. Not only in crafting, but even when choosing clothing. The pink and orange squasgph are colors that I love and regularly choose to use. But the deep yellow-mustard Moss and forest green intimidated me until I realized they were the same colors in the recent Fall Fling  paper from Lawn Fawn. I knew then that I was going to be able to rock this color board!

Using my stamp platform I stamped out almost all of the images from two Trinity Stamps sets Mouse House and Shoe Sprites I colored them in using a million copic markers. I’ve mentioned it before and I’ll say it again, color boards are for inspiring, not dictating. I want to see what this Board inspires you to create using the graphic as a jumping board, and in my mind all shades of the colors are valid. And skin tones and neutrals are always freebies!! Don’t ever feel fenced in cause that’s not fun and this challenge is all about fun.

I made a larger than normal slimline cardusing the forest green Fall Fling Paper and layered all of my images on top to create a fun fall garden scene.  I used lots of inkblending on white and colored cardstock and splattered lots of golden metallic ink.
This challenge is not connected to Butterfly Reflections Ink, but I adore the store and the Mood Boards they offer, and I am grateful to provide DT contributions to them. This gift certificate is provided by me, so please keep all of this in mind as I learn a new social media skill haha. If you have suggestions or tips please let me know by email or DM, don’t bash me online. I want this to be fun but fair. Please only link your new and original projects to your Instagram or Blog. Don’t link any more than 4 entries. You must use brands offered by Butterfly Reflections Ink (which is most brands) and I’d really love it if you shared this with your crafty Friends and used the hashtag #BRImoodboard.  This link will be open for 3 weeks and close on October 31st at 11:59 pm. I will be sharing these entries on my IG stories if you tag me, and announce the winner by Nov 2nd on my Instagram @popsiclesticks
