Lucky Break with Penguin Palace

Hello my friends, today I have a bold and bright “raspberry lemonade” hued card to share with you. I felt very daring using these vivid colors and love how the finished product turned out. I used a new stamp and die set from Penguin Palace Stamps called Lucky Break  and created a fun celebration scene.

Many of you don’t know that I live in Las Vegas and work in a casino, so I really giggled when I saw this fun little set with its slot machine and gamblers. I was going to try my hand at a clean and simple layout but I ended up giving it a little more “oomph”, and I couldn’t be happier.

First I stamped my images onto bright white cardstock using my stamp platform, then colored them in with Copic markers. I die cut the images using the coordinating Penguin Cuts  before highlighting with white gel pen accents. Then I cut a scalloped window from  a white stitched panel and mounted over a raspberry and pink inkblended panel, that I splattered with white and sparkly metallic yellow ink. I adhered my images onto the panel making sure to add foam tape under the images in the window so they don’t sag.

I adhered a large scripty word directly above the punny sentiment that I heat embossed onto a strip of black cardstock. I accented the sentiment with dimensional stamped coins from the set, to look like the machine was spitting out a jackpot. I really love all the options there are for slot machine wheels and the dotted jackpot
stamp that I stamped in hot pink to look like the lights in the machine are flashing brightly. I layered all of this on top of bright striped yellow paper that perfectly matched the winning 7’s!

I hope you enjoy this little card and check out the entire new release that is now available! Thank you for dropping in,
Davina
