Hi and welcome to the Heffy Doodle Release Blog Hop! The new release is now available for purchase from Heffy Doodle and official retailers, and we are celebrating with lots of inspiration and a giveaway too!
Don’t forget that you can still get the exclusive Lil Lighthouse stamp set and die with qualifying purchase on the Heffy Doodle website while supplies last.
The card I’m sharing today is a wonderful large shadow box using the new dies set called Big Shadow Box, this die is extra amazing because it allows you to make a good large shadow box with plenty of space for fun, yet still fit into a standard A2 envelope. I’ve been making these sized boxes for a couple of years, and it is so nice to have a die set that does all of the hard work for you.
I also used the new Who Let the Dogs Out stamps and dies, to fill in all these great layers. I had some really cute double sided paper that had a pretty floral on the front and some aqua clouds on the back. I felt this would be perfect for my box so that the interior would be lovely and ready to decorate. I cut 3 tabbed layers from lime green cardstock using the included die, and trimmed the tops with the Grassy Lass Border Dies to create a rolling lawn. After gently inking the tops with Mowed Lawn distress oxide inks, I secured double stick tape on the tabs of each piece but did not remove the release paper at this time.
I stamped all of the cute puppies from the stamp set Copic colored with markers that matched my pattern paper. Next, I used the coordinating dies to cut each image before highlighting with small white dots. Then, I decorated each little lawn piece making sure that when in place, everything would be visible.
I laid the two box panels in front of me with the outside-facing down, and adhered them together on one side only (the center most box tab). With it open still outside-facing down, I glued the tallest lawn piece (with tabs removed), fence and dog house to the back panel. And in staggering heights, I adhered the remaining two layers about 1/2 inch apart to the left side using the double stick tape. Once in place, I removed the remaining release paper and folded the right side over, to achieve perfect placement of the tabs onto the right side of the box. Then I completed the box assemble by adhering the remaining box tab to the right side.
I stamped a “Happy Birthday” banner from the new Bold Banners Sentiments using Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink, and attached it over the top after die cutting. I placed my final tiny puppy on the front, next to the gift wrapped bone, and finished this up by decorating the back panel with the included scallop & stitched dies and sentiment.
I hope you like this shadow box, and now for the fun stuff!
